God Knows You!

Each of us has a desire to be truly known but do you think that if people knew the “real” you they would reject you?  Have you built a protective, iron wall around yourself that keeps who you really are and what you really think hidden?  No wonder you may be lonely; there is no “real” connection with other people!  I know by experience that we do so much damage to ourselves hiding who we are to please others; it is also exhausting because the more we protect, the more we focus on our self.  Think about this:  It is impossible to obey God’s command to love one another if you are focused on protecting yourself from other people.  You will lose your authentic self if you continue to allow others to define you! 

The Bible has a solution and it comes from believing and receiving what God alone says about you; after all, only your Creator really knows all the facts!  When you read God’s Word, you will realize that you are not alone and that your Father in heaven not only knows you better than anyone, but He also loves you deeply.  God has never overlooked you and He never will because He created you! 

God Knows You Intimately

There is nothing about you that was not planned

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.  When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.  All the days ordained for me were written in your book, before one of them came to be.  Psalm 139:13-16

There had to be some planning first for God to create you.  Think about this!  God thought of you before He formed you, so nothing was overlooked!  Notice the descriptive words in the verse above like “knit” and “weave” because they are such intimate and personal words.  God fashioned you, so He is very familiar with everything about you.  There is nothing about you that is a mistake!  God created you down to the smallest detail.  He thought of you when He chose your personality, so He understands why you do the things you do even when at you do not.  He knows your likes and your dislikes, and He knows why.  He knows what makes you happy and what makes you sad.  He knows what pleases you and what makes you angry.  The bottom line:  God knows and understands what make you tick!

 The Psalmist exclaims:

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.  Psalm 139:6

God’s Thoughts about You Outnumber the Sand!

Ponder this:

O Lord, you have searched me, and you know me.  You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.  You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.  Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. How precious for me are your thoughts, O God!  How vast is the sum of them!  Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.  When I awake, I am still with you.  Psalm 139:1-4, 17-18

Did you listen intently when you read how well God knows you and how often He thinks about you?  Did you hear God tell you that He sees you always and that He understands you completely?  God thinks about you so often that His thoughts about you outnumber the grains of sand!  Can you ponder the wonder of this and allow it to sink in?  God’s thoughts about you cannot be measured!  You are precious to Him just the way you are because God is love!  There will never be anyone who will know and love you unconditionally like God does!  Do you believe Him?  Allow God’s Word to penetrate your heart.

What You Believe Matters!

Because of sin, life on earth is filled with pain and much of it comes from the words of other people and the messages we receive from our culture that tell us that we do not measure up, so we hide ourselves.  The thinking of this world does not reflect the love of God!  You too tell yourself negative messages that over time will begin to mar and erode who God planned you to be in Christ.  It is true that what you believe is what you will act on so God warns you not to be conformed in your thinking.  

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is; His good, pleasing and perfect will.  Romans 12:2

God is truth and His Word is truth so as you continually read and study God’s Word, He will begin to replace the lies that you believe with the truth from His Word.  Believe what God says about Himself and about you and begin the spiritual transformation that He has planned for youBy faith, stand firm in His love and in His view of you and peel off the mask.  Come out from the shadows and step into His marvelous light.  Believe that God loves you and it will change your life!

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?  Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.  And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.  Matthew 10:29-31

God Is Always Thinking About You

Have you thought about Him?

You have a desire to be truly known.  Would it surprise you to know that God also wants to be known?  Did you know, or have you forgotten that God is personal and desires a relationship with you?  He wants you to know Him, so He first brought you the Word of the Gospel, the good news of salvation in Christ, so that you can know Him by faith. He also gave you His Holy Spirit so that you can understand His Word and begin to know who He is and what He has done.  You can know God as personally as David did who believed and followed God and wrote many of the Psalms as a result.  

“Let him who boasts boast about this:  that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.  Jeremiah 9:24

Do You Know What Pleases God?

Sadly, many will not make time to read or study God’s Word, so they will continue to believe lies and be conformed rather than be transformed.  They will never know and understand the love God has for them and they may search a lifetime to fill the void that only God can fill.  They will never know God or what pleases Him.  They will continue to live only for themselves and miss out on all the riches that could be theirs in knowing God through His Son, Jesus Christ.  If this describes you, confess this to God and ask Him to help you make a change; He will hear you.  

Help me, O God my Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver me and forgive my sins for your name’s sake.

My Prayer for You

I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.  And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.  Ephesians 3:16-19
