God chose you to have a personal relationship with Him.

God Chose You

God Chose You

God chose you to have a personal relationship with Him.  But to have this connection, you must first receive God’s Son, Jesus Christ, as your Savior and then get to know Him by reading the Bible, the Word of God.  Subsequently, you will understand that your Creator knows everything about you yet still deeply loves you.  And when you believe what God says about you, you will stop believing the lies of the evil one.

It is incredible but true that God loves you so much that Jesus willingly left heaven to die on earth for your sins.  And although Jesus is God and therefore sinless, He was surprisingly misunderstood and rejected by many.  Thus, Jesus empathizes with you every time people do not accept you.  And this includes seeing your younger self picked last for a team.  As well as that time, you stood awkwardly alone though in a social setting.

But even sadder, He sees you as an adult still trying to fit in by conforming to someone’s image of who you should be.  Indeed, God knows you still yearn to be chosen and loved.  Therefore, God offers you an eternal, personal relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.  Have you received Him?

Jesus says, “come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  Matthew 11:28-30

God Chose You to Be His Child

Did you know, or have you forgotten, that Almighty God, your Creator, and ruler of the universe, has always loved you?  Indeed, your Father in heaven created you exactly as you are for His good purposes.  And then, He chose you to believe in Jesus so you could be born again spiritually and become His child.

He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, but the world did not recognize Him.  He came to that which was His own, but His own did not receive him.

Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God– children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.  John 1:10-13

God did not choose you because you were a good person and did more good things than bad.  Nor did He choose you because you were beautiful, intelligent, gifted, talented, or athletic, even though people determine their preferences this way.  Indeed, the Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  But because of God’s unfathomable mercy and love, Jesus died for you, even when you were unaware of His sacrifice.

God Chose You to Belong to Him

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.   But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Romans 5:6-8

God is love, and you are His forgiven child!  So, why would you ever think that God is against you, disproves of you, or is mad at you?  Because God loved you when you were His enemy.  So, certainly, you can do nothing to change His love for you now that you belong to Him.

Therefore, don’t allow Satan, “the liar and accuser,” to take this truth away from you.  Instead, believe God when He says you are precious to Him just as you are.  Indeed, if you were the only person on earth, Jesus would still have died for you, so you could become God’s child and call Him “Abba Father!”

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!  And that is what we are!  The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.  1 John 3:1

If you have repented of your sins and believed that Jesus Christ died on a cross to pay the penalty for sin, you are a child of God.  And the Holy Spirit, who now indwells you, enables you to put away sin as you rely on him.  And one glorious day, you will stand in God’s presence with great joy.

God Chose You for Friendship

Jesus chose you to have a personal relationship with Him, and He considers you, His friend if you have received Him.  Is Jesus Your Savior?

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command.  I no longer call you servants because a servant does not know his master’s business.  Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.  John 15:13-15

When Jesus is your best friend, you have everything you need.  Therefore, turn to Him to give you what you long for and what no other person on earth can ever give you:  Unconditional love, compassion, forgiveness, guidance, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, and the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.

God Chose to Adopt You

For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.  In love, He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will; to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.  Ephesians 1:4-6

God personally chose you in Christ before He even created the world!  Moreover, He accepted you when others overlooked you because He saw the beautiful person, He created you to be.  Because as you rely on God and not yourself, the Holy Spirit transforms you to look more like Jesus.  So, others may scorn you, use you, and reject you, but God never will.  Instead, He promises never to leave or forsake you because God chose you to belong to Him.

God Chose You for Fellowship

He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.  God, who has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.  1 Corinthians 1:8-9

God is your constant companion, so He desires a personal relationship with you.  But since you have known the sting of rejection, are you neglecting Jesus, the one who wants to lavish His love upon you?   If so, then talk to God now.  Draw close to God, and He will come close to you.

Jesus demonstrated how much He loved you when He sacrificed His life for you.  So, in grateful response, set aside time to nourish your relationship with Him.  Accordingly, prioritize your time to talk with Him daily and hear Him speak to you through His Word.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful life.  1 Peter 2:9
