Faith comes from the Word of God.

I Trust You, Jesus

I Trust You, Jesus

I trust you, Jesus, should be easy to say, but it is not.  And this is because we want to see where we are going, so it is hard to obey God’s command to walk by faith, not by sight.  Hence, although we desire to trust Jesus, we continually take back control of our lives.  In addition, we may not acknowledge it, but we have our plans and feel perfectly capable of achieving them.  So, does this describe you?

The Bible says that living independently from God is called sin because, without faith, it is impossible to please Him.  But the good news is that Jesus’ death and resurrection set you free from the power of sin.  So, it is possible to walk with Him by faith, give up control, and say, I trust you, Jesus.

For it is we who are the circumcision, we who worship by the Spirit of God, who glory in Christ Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh.  Philippians 3:3

You put confidence in the flesh whenever you rely on yourself, not God.  So, instead of following Jesus as He commands, you go it alone.  Unfortunately, for some, this has become a daily habit.  Consequently, when Jesus is excluded from your day-to-day life, studying God’s Word and prayer is also not a priority.  So, you lose your connection to God and live independently from Him.  And this is the reason you are overwhelmed and regularly experience worry, stress, impatience, anger, and confusion.

You Either Trust Jesus or Yourself

You either trust Jesus or yourself, but you cannot do both.  Hence, if you have been trusting yourself, you have already lost sight of Jesus.  Therefore, confessing your sin to God is the only way to get back on track spiritually.  So, when you are ready, pray something like this:

Father God, I confess that most of the time, I ignore you, and I am sorry, but I do want to change.  Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrificial love and forgiveness that cost you your life.  So, with your help, I surrender control to you now and ask that you direct my path and carry my burdens.  I trust you, Lord Jesus, to show me how to walk with you by faith as I look to you.  In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

If you sincerely prayed this prayer, Jesus forgives you and wants to help you learn to trust Him.  So, because faith comes from believing God’s Word, it is essential to set aside time for Bible study each day.  Therefore, ask God to help you and believe that He will.  Because when you believe and obey God’s Word, you will keep in step with His Spirit

And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again.  2 Corinthians 5:15

An Insight to Help You Trust Jesus

God revealed this insight to me that I pray helps you: “To allow Me to lead, begin to see yourself as My servant, and each day as belonging to Me.”

Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be.  My Father will honor the one who serves me.  John 12:26

One morning, I asked God to redeem my time and help me do the important things that day.  In response, He gently reminded me that I was His servant, so each day belonged to Him and not to me.  Therefore, it is not my time and my day.  Indeed, this revelation from God transformed my thinking and caused me to change how I approach each day.

The Lord’s mercies are new every morning, so before my feet hit the floor, I now think or say, “I trust you, Jesus.”  As a result, my mind focuses on His ability to handle things instead of me.  These four words also help me remember that Jesus is sovereign over my circumstances.  Thus, I believe He will give me the grace to deal with whatever He allows.

And when I trust Jesus to decide what is necessary for me to do that day, I am less impatient with interruptions because He decides what gets done.  So now, I smile at how much better He plans and organizes time than I ever did.  Furthermore, when Jesus is in control and not me, I experience His peace, even under challenging circumstances because I talk to Jesus more often throughout the day.

I know, O Lord, that a man’s life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps.  Jeremiah 10:23

Trust Jesus and Stay Connected

Faithful servants of Jesus Christ follow Him and do what He commands by relying on the Holy Spirit who lives in them.  So, knowing this, I asked Jesus why I often forget to call on Him.  In response, He helped me understand that I disconnect from Him whenever I think everything is up to me.  So now, when I forget, the anxiety and stress from “going it alone” reminds me to ask Jesus for help.

As a servant of God, I must continually relinquish control if I want to experience His peace in my life.  So, would you like to experience God’s calming presence no matter how pressing your circumstances are?  Then, ask God to alert you when you disconnect from Him and believe He will.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.  Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust Jesus in Your Trials and Temptations

Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.  1 Peter 1:8-9

Trials test your faith and reveal who or what you trust more than God.  So, because He wants you to believe He can help you, God uses stressful situations to teach you to rely on Him.  Hence, the next time you feel overwhelmed because you think everything is up to you, take this as a warning sign: You have taken control and need to pray.  Now, if you are used to relying on yourself, this will seem foreign, and it takes practice.  However, you will soon discover the blessings of Jesus directing your life.  And best of all, you will increasingly reflect Jesus as you live by faith in Him.

No one will ever love you like Jesus.  And when you believe this, your clenched fist will loosen as you choose to surrender your will to follow Him. Indeed, only Jesus knows the end from the beginning and can see what is to come.  So, despite what is happening in your life, will you trust Him to lead you where He wants you to go?

Jesus said: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Trust Jesus to Help You

Do you handle things yourself because you think Jesus only cares about spiritual things?  If so, you are living a significant portion of your day independent from God.  So, next time, call on Jesus to help you instead of looking inward for answers.  Indeed, I have learned to ask Jesus to help me in many practical ways.  For instance, He not only inspires these posts, but He is skilled in editing them.  Also, I often ask Jesus for help because technology is not my thing.  And he answers by giving me understanding and the ability to find solutions.  As a result, I have fixed a myriad of technical issues.

In addition, I have also experienced physical healing many times.  Thus, from my own experience, the Bible is true when it says that Jesus is all-knowing and able to meet any need or circumstance I face.  So, what would your day look like if you asked Jesus to help you before you get frustrated?

“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind.  Is there anything too hard for me?”  Jeremiah 32:27

Jesus is Everything You Need

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God that is beyond human understanding!  Only in Jesus will you find lasting peace and hope.  So, ask Him to guide, strengthen, help, counsel, and comfort you.  And then, by faith, expect Him to answer.

You can unleash God’s power even if your faith is as tiny as a mustard seed, so give Him your fears in exchange for His peace.  Moreover, give Jesus your impatience with others in exchange for His love and kindness.  And when anger begins to stir, ask for His self-control.  It is a fact that your emotions lose their power over you when He is in control. Indeed, Jesus is everything you need, and He is enough for every challenge you face.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.  For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are, yet was without sin.  Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.  Hebrews 4:14-16

I Want to Trust You, Jesus

Those who trust God believe His Word and depend on the Holy Spirit to live the life of Jesus through them.  If you have doubts when you say, I trust you, Jesus, ask Him to help your unbelief.

I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being so that Christ may dwell in your heart through faith.  Ephesians 3:16

So, has the Spirit of God encouraged you to trust Jesus daily?  Then, remember the prayer at the beginning of this post.  And believe that Jesus helps those who believe in Him, and He rewards those who seek Him.

Father God, I do want to change.  So, thank you, Jesus, that you will direct my path and carry my burdens as I trust in you.  Please continue to show me how to walk with you by faith, so I will depend on you and not rely on myself.  I trust you, Jesus.

The watchman opens the gate for Him, and the sheep listen to His voice.  He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out.  When He has brought out all His own, He goes on ahead of them, and His sheep follow Him because they know His voice.  John 10: 3-4
