A Message From Suzanne

This time of year is a good time to say thank you to my faithful blog readers and to those who have requested the Bible study.  If you are a new visitor, welcome.  I hope you will visit often!   If you are a regular reader of the blogs I post on this website, it is because you are willing to take the time to go deeper I appreciate this about you!   It takes a lot of my time to thoughtfully and prayerfully write each in-depth blog post so I appreciate those who also take the extra time to thoughtfully read what God has inspired and not just skim for information.  Your thirst for the Word of God is a work of the Holy Spirit who will also give you understanding and the power to obey His Word.  Reflection and change is always my prayer for you as it is for myself.

My Faith Journey

I like the personal touch so I thought that you might like to know why this website was created.  It is the culmination of a faith journey that began when God inspired a new, inductive Bible study through me that I called, Digging Deeper, Hear God Speak to You from His Word, in April 2013In September 2013 the Bible study launched in two churches and I knew from the feedback that this was a unique study that actually transformed lives.  I therefore believed that God wanted me to get the word out about this new inductive Bible study so I started a Digging Deeper Facebook page in February 2014.

After the Facebook page was up for a while, I felt God leading me to teach the Word of God by writing blog posts that He inspired.  In hindsight, I can see that God has been preparing me for this new work as He is using my love for God’s Word as well as all of my personal and ministry experiences.  Because of some of the limitations of Facebook, this website was created in October 2015 and named, Digging Deeper Hear God Speak.  My first blog post was, You are Chosen.  I hope that you will take the time to read this and all of my earlier blog posts.  You can see that much has happened in a very short amount of time.  This continues to be a journey of faith for me but one thing I do know is that God is at work and I am depending on Him.

The Mission of Digging Deeper Hear God Speak

It is Important to Have a Reason for Ministry

That every man and woman who digs deeper into God’s Word using the Digging Deeper Bible Study or reads a blog post on this website will have their lives spiritually transformed by the Word of God from the inside out and so be empowered by the Holy Spirit and the love of the Lord Jesus Christ to live their daily lives serving Him and serving others as God calls us to do.

Navigating the Website

I Want You to Feel Comfortable Whenever You Visit

At the top of every page is a ribbon that once clicked will take you to another page.  Beginning on the left is the Home page where the three latest blog posts are always featured.  The About the Study will tell you more about the Digging Deeper Bible study written for men and women with a variety of Bible study experiences or none at all.  When you hover your mouse over the About the Study page, the About the Author page will appear and you can read my brief bio and how the Digging Deeper Bible Study was inspired.  On the Testimonials page are quotes given by real people who have used Digging Deeper to study the Bible.  After visiting and reading these pages you will want to click Request the Bible Study and fill out the form.  Consider requesting Digging Deeper if you are looking for a transformative Bible study for yourself, or for a study to use in your neighborhood or church.  I have created a lesson schedule for every Book of the Bible with the exception of Job so you can request any Book of the Bible to study.  Thank you to those who have already requested Digging Deeper, Hear God Speak to You from His Word Bible Study.  I would love to hear your feedback.

There is another page on this website where you have the opportunity to simply share what you are hearing from God when you spend time with Him in His Word.  This page is called Your Bible Study Insights The only thing missing is your input.  Simply write out the verse(s) of your choosing and then comment about what it means to you personally.  When enough people participate, we can all be encouraged by both the Bible verses and the insights.  So far only one person besides myself has taken advantage of this page.  It would be great if you posted next!

Presently, the Events page lists local Digging Deeper Bible Studies.  As God leads, I hope to see a Digging Deeper group in your area listed on this page.  The best Bible study is done in community where you are able to hear the give and take of others and also get your questions answered.  Is God calling you to consider using the Digging Deeper Bible study in your neighborhood or church or to tell someone about this Bible study?  The contact page comes next and I hope that you will contact me for prayer or for questions you would like answered.  Please also contact me to find out more information about how to begin a Digging Deeper Bible Study group in your area.

About My Blog

Posts Inspired by the Spirit of God and the Word of God

I am motivated to be faithful to the character of God and faithful to His Word whenever I write.  Because there are so many misconceptions about who God is and what His Word says, each blog post is a building block of truth that over time will hopefully provide understanding and real change.  My prayer is that anyone who reads my blog will know that God lives and that He speaks to us from His Word.  I write only as God inspires me and when that no longer happens, I will not write.  It takes time to develop truth from God’s Word in an understandable way so I do not post as often as people say that I should to be “successful.”  I write by the faith that God supplies and I do everything through Him who gives me strength.

I hope that God builds a community here and that you will actively participate in it.  You definitely participate when you read a blog on the Blog page.  What is often missing are your comments so that I know you are out there and what you are thinking.  I realize commenting takes a few extra minutes but I hope that you will consider doing it because comments cause others to think more deeply and can also spark discussion.  Your comments bring life to the post as you interact with what is written.

The Bible Verses at the End of My Blog Posts

Nothing Should Ever Take the Place of Hearing and Learning from God for Yourself

I include many Bible verses at the end of a blog post because there is a lot more that can be said.  The Bible verses are included for you to study and to have further understanding of the blog post subject.  Taking the time to look up the Bible verses will help you to study God’s Word and hear from God for yourself.   Bible Study will change your life so print the blog and take the time to reread it and then look up the verses whenever I post.

Lessons from the Ethiopian Eunuch

The Bible tells us about an Ethiopian eunuch who was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah, the prophet

The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.”  Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah, the prophet.  “Do you understand what you are reading?  Philip asked.  “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?”  So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.  Acts 8:28-31

When Philip explained the Scriptures to the Eunuch and told him the good news about Jesus, he asked to be baptized.  (Read Acts 8:26-40)  There should always be a response to God’s Word!  You will not be transformed by reading or skimming for information which is so common today.  Without application there is no spiritual transformation!  I am called by God to teach His Word in a way that calls for action so the in-depth blog posts on this website reflect this.

James Warns Against Reading for Information Only

Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says.  Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.  But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that give freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it, he will be blessed in what he does.  James 1:22-25

What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds?  Can such faith save him?  As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.  James 2:14, 26

Pray for Me, Please

For some time, I have been deeply concerned about the Biblical illiteracy that I see in believers, even in the church.  Jesus is the Word and we are neglecting Him.  Missionaries are called by God to take His Word to other countries and I believe that God has given me this same kind of ministry through the internet.  In its short existence, the Digging Deeper Hear God Speak website is presently reaching people who live all over the United States, Russia, China, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Germany, Australia, France, and The United Kingdom.

I would love to know that you support this ministry by praying for me so that the truth of God’s Word will continue to reach many more peopleContact me and let me know that you are praying.

My Prayer for You

May the Lord Bless you and keep you.  May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.  Numbers 6:24-26

Love,  Suzanne
