You Are Chosen!

Feeling unloved and unwanted and no one knows?  There is someone who knows how you feel because He knows everything about you.   God saw you as a kid waiting anxiously as teams were chosen.  He saw how you felt when your fears were often realized and you were chosen last.  He saw you when you longed to be accepted and He saw how hard you worked to fit in and have people like and accept you.  God sees you now as an adult losing who you really are because you are still adapting and conforming into someone else’s image of who you should be.  God knows your innermost thoughts and He sees who you are at your core; still wanting to be accepted and chosen.

Your Creator Loves You

Did you know or have you forgotten that Almighty God, your Creator and Ruler of the universe has always been on your side?  Even when you did not acknowledge God, He loved you so much that His Son, Jesus, died for your sins so that one day you would willingly choose to receive Him and become His adopted child.  God did not choose you because you were a good person and did more good things than bad.  Neither did He choose you because you were beautiful, smart, gifted, talented or athletic.  No!  This is how the people of the world choose and decide their favorites.

The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  This means that when you were still God’s enemy, He died for you because of His unfathomable love and compassion.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.  Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die.   But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Romans 5:6-8

Pause and reflect on this powerful truth.  God is love!  Why then would you ever think that God is against you, or disproves of you, or is mad at you now that you are His child and all your sins are forgiven?  God accepted you then and He accepts you now so don’t allow “the accuser” to take this truth away from you.

Know then and believe that you are of priceless worth to God just as you are!  If you were the only person on earth, Jesus would still have died for you so that you could be God’s child and call Him, “Abba Father.”   Allow God’s Holy Spirit to give to you what you long for and what no person on earth can ever give you.  The Spirit of Christ freely gives those who have accepted Him all that comes with His Presence:  unconditional love, compassion, forgiveness, guidance, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness gentleness, self-control and the presence and  power of the Holy Spirit.  There is so much more to know about the Father who loves you this way and He wants you to know Him through His Word, the Bible.

God Chose You to Believe

For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.  In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will; to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.  Ephesians 1:4-6

Look closely at the verse again.   You are loved and you have been personally chosen by God in Christ before He even created the world!  He accepted you when others overlooked you.  He saw the beautiful creation that you would become as a result of His Holy Spirit indwelling you and transforming you.   Others may scorn you, use you and reject you but He never will.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!  And that is what we are!  The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.  1 John 3:1

He is with you and will remain in love with you forever!  Stop and contemplate this incredible truth!  His indwelling power will sustain you and carry you through to the end where you will one day stand in His Presence with great joy to the praise of God the Father.  It gives God a great deal of pleasure and it is His will to love you unconditionally.  To whom should you be grateful for this indescribable gift?  God’s Son, Jesus Christ.  He was willing to sacrifice His life on the cross for your sin to set up God’s plan for your adoption.

Have You received the Love of God in Christ?

Those who love Him Follow Him

In view of all of this, there is now a question to ponder.  You have known the sting of rejection.  Are you now rejecting the one who wants to lavish His love upon you?  If so ask yourself why and reconsider.  Jesus has given you His life.  Have you received His sacrifice of love?  Ask God for His indescribable rest of salvation.  Choose to follow Jesus every day and rely on His love.   Don’t continue to believe the lie.  Choose to read God’s Word and believe the truth.  Choose Life in Jesus Christ!

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!  2 Corinthians 9:15
