God Knows You!

God knows you!  And this is because God created the heavens, the earth, and everything in it, so He also made you.  Therefore, your Father in heaven knows you better than anyone on the planet, and He loves you deeply.  Even enough to die for you!

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man, someone might possibly dare to die.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Romans 5:7-8

But sadly, if you do not know God or believe in His love, you look to others for acceptance.  And this sets up a vicious cycle of people-pleasing.  You want to be known, but you fear that if anyone knew the “real” you, they would reject you.  Therefore, without realizing it, you built a protective wall that keeps your true self hidden.

So, no wonder you are lonely!  There is no genuine connection with other people because you suppress what you think to gain their approval.  And this is also spiritually damaging because it is impossible to obey God’s command to love one another while focused on protecting yourself.  Indeed, you lose your authenticity when you allow others to define you.

The Bible has a solution, and it comes from believing what God says about you.  Because when you understand that your identity is in Christ, Jesus becomes the source for all that you need.

God Knows You Intimately

There is nothing about you that God did not plan.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 

My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.  When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.  All the days ordained for me were written in your book, before one of them came to be.  Psalm 139:13-16

Before God created you, He thought of you, so there must have been some planning.  Thus, God overlooked nothing when He created you.  So, with that in mind, reread the verse and notice the intimate and personal words like “knit” and “weave.”  Therefore, because God fashioned you down to the smallest detail, nothing about you is a mistake!

Indeed, God thoughtfully chose your personality, so He understands why you do what you do, even when you do not.  Hence, He knows your likes and dislikes, what makes you happy, and why you are sad.  Moreover, He also knows what pleases you and what makes you angry.  So, in summary, God knows and understands what makes you tick and still passionately loves you!

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.  Psalm 139:6

The Psalmist exclaims the awe of knowing that God is intimately acquainted with all his ways.  What is your response?

God Always Thinks About You

O Lord, you have searched me, and you know me.  You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.  You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 

Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.  How precious for me are your thoughts, O God!  How vast is the sum of them!  Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand.  When I awake, I am still with you.  Psalm 139:1-4, 17-18

When you read the verse, did your heart stir when you realized how well God knows you and how often He thinks about you?  Indeed, ponder this incredible truth and allow it to sink inAstoundingly, God’s thoughts about you outnumber the grains of sand and can’t be measured!  So, believe God’s Word and not the lies you tell yourself.

The truth is:  God made you unique, one of a kind, so you will never be like someone else.  Thus, you are precious to God just the way you are, and He loves you.  Indeed, there will never be anyone who will know and love you unconditionally the way God does!   So now, be still and allow the truth of God’s Word to penetrate your heart.

God Knows You, But Do You Know Him

God knows and thinks about you, but do you put much effort into knowing Him?  Your heart’s desire is to be known, so would it surprise you that God wants this too?  And this is because God designed you to have a personal relationship with Him, a connection and bond like no other.  But it does take two to fellowship.

“Let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice, and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.  Jeremiah 9:24

So, would you say that you know God?  If not, tell Him you are sorry for living your life focused on yourself and not Him.  Then, ask God to change your heart, and believe that He will.  God reveals Himself through His Word, so if knowing God is your heart’s desire, ask Him now to help you make reading the Bible a priority.

Help me, O God my Savior, for the glory of your name; deliver me and forgive my sins for your name’s sake.  Psalm 79:9

What You Believe Matters

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is; His good, pleasing and perfect will.  Romans 12:2

Spiritual transformation begins when you believe and obey the Word of God.  And this is because God is truth, and His Word is the truth.  So, as you continually read and study God’s Word, He will begin to replace the lies you believe with the truth from His Word.  Subsequently, God changes your life from the inside out as you step out from the shadows and walk in His marvelous light.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:2-4

My Prayer for You

I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.  And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.  Ephesians 3:16-19
